The Lothians Team Tournament is open to all course-owning and non course-owning clubs in the Lothians area of the Scottish Golf Union. It was first played in 1921, the year the Lothians Golf Association was formally constituted.
The Shield for the Team Tournament, making it the oldest trophy up for grabs in events run by the Lothians Golf Association, was first played for in 1926, the cost of seven guineas having been donated by members and past members of the committee at the time.
The event format was reviewed in 2015 and since 2016 is now played over one course with the teams consisting of three players from each club.
All three scores count and the winning club is the team who return the lowest aggregate score over the three rounds.
The 2017 event will be held on Saturday, 6 May at Ratho Park Golf Club. — DRAW
