The Golf Academy is open and available for practice, coaching and custom fitting to members and the public.

There are 4 covered bays available to members and the public, the other covered area is for the golf professionals use

Outside we have created 8  grass tees, front left of the Academy by the boundary fence (yellow markers) – please access this area by leaving the Academy and turning right then right again being careful at all times as there may be fittings going on at SGGT.

There is also 8 bays outside hitting from Astro turf on the raised grass bank

The Coaching Team

Meet the professionals leading the Swanston Golf Academy.

Originally from Newcastle, Mike began his golf journey at 11 and represented Angus county at U14, U16 and U18 level. After graduating with an Honours degree in Sports Studies from the University of Stirling — where he re-established and led the University Golf Club — he spent two years working across major international sporting events in Australia before returning to pursue a professional coaching career. He turned professional in 2017 and was twice recognised as PGA in Scotland Assistant of the Year. Mike is now ranked the #1 Golf Coach on Google in Edinburgh with over 80+ five-star reviews, and has been nominated for PGA Scotland Coach of the Year in both 2025 and 2026, having reached the top three finalists in 2025.

Aran is a dedicated coach within the Swanston Golf Academy, supporting the development of golfers across a range of group and individual programmes.

Peter has been part of the Swanston coaching setup since the Academy’s earliest days and continues to bring a wealth of experience to his work with students. He recently accepted a part-time consultancy role as Practice & Performance Coach for Swiss Golf, where he works with eight of their touring professionals on practice structure and tournament preparation.
