My name is Heidi Allan, and I am a 14-year-old Explorer Scout in Bonaly and Swanston’s Junior Girls Golf Captain.
I have been selected as part of the UK contingent to go to the World Scout Jamboree in South Korea, which is a life changing opportunity with around 50,000 scouts from over 150 countries from all over the world.
I will therefore be representing Edinburgh and Scotland at a major scouting event.
This will be a life changing experience where I will be experiencing new cultures, meeting young people from other countries, learning new skills and improving my confidence all of which match with the Scouting values of Integrity, Belief, Respect, Co-operation and Care. However, there will be an opportunity for me to pop my putter in my rucksack for some down time.
I now have the challenge of raising approximately £3500 which will cover both my trip and also contribute to allowing disadvantaged scouts from across the world attending. I have already raised over £400 making and selling crafts.
I am also running a golf scramble at Swanston Golf Club on 14th May.
