Bill’s funeral is on Thursday 8th of October,11am at Mortonhall Crematorium followed by refreshments at Sighthill Bowling Club

Bill Lamb
It is with great and personal sadness that I was informed of the passing of Bill Lamb after a long and difficult illness bravely borne.
Bill was Captain of Swanston Golf Club from 1977-79 and also the President of the Lothians Captains Society.
A gentleman in the truest sense of the word who ensured that the Club was in good hands during his term and prospered thereafter.
His children, all four of them, also made significant contributions to Swanston.
The eldest, Yvonne, who worked in the old clubhouse with a succession of Club mistresses,
Andrew who also served as Captain of Swanston and is currently the Secretary of the Lothians Captains Society and Sharon who would win the Swanston Ladies Championship on 10 occasions and serve as Captain of the Ladies section.
Sharon has also recently been proposed as the new President of the Lothians Golf Association only the second Woman in the history of the LGA to be nominated.
Last but certainly not least we have the youngest member of the family Alan, a basketball Internationalist who I recall playing in the Club Championship final many years ago and who recently served a term as the Captain at Turnhouse GC.
It should be noted that Andrews wife Moira was also a Captain of the Swanston Ladies section.
Families who have achieved so much but have also had their sadness are driven by Mums.
Andrena is a special woman and whilst she will miss Bill terribly, she will also have the solace that Bills pain is at an end and he can rest in peace.
