It was the last Mixed Stableford of the winter season today and I can officially report that the winner was…Mother Nature! Not even the “Fab Four” (Stu, Mic, DJ and Doug) could handle what the old lady had lined up for golfers this morning as they, the only entrants, abandoned their bids for glory after four extremely windswept and rain-lashed holes.
Fortunately, we have six months of fun, competition and sunshine ahead! Before that, SGC would like to thank everyone who has taken part in the Winter Stableford events. A “shout out” too for those members who have supported the Templar Bar by purchasing pints, pies and pop. Thank you to the greenkeeping team for their sterling efforts in challenging conditions. Finally, thanks to Derek Lauder for his IT input (and patience).
