The traditional season opening event ,The Captain v The Vice-Captain Match was played today and a big “Thank You” to the 84 members who took part in the 4 Ball Texas Scramble.
The teams experienced sunshine and hail on a cool but enjoyable morning to play golf.
The Result – yet another victory for the Captains Team who had an aggregate score of 644 shots to beat the Vice Captains Team by only 6 shots.
There were some great scores – the lowest was a 58 from The Captain, Graeme Millar, Duncan Thompson, Ian Tennant and John Thorpe and a 61 from the Club Pro, Adam Wills, Stuart Steel, Duncan Bell and Alistair Somerville.
So the Captain wins again and retains Lukes Cup for another year.
Such a pity we could not have a drink and a bit food afterwards however I hope everyone enjoyed themselves and met some different members for the first time.
